Eli and I went to school today to help in Kaylee's class for a little bit and then we stayed for lunch. Kaylee was having hot lunch today, something she loves even though, in my opinion, the food is substandard. I think her favorite part is being able to walk through the line carrying the tray. A close second is that she gets a chocolate milk. Today, feeling a pang in my heart that my baby was getting so big, I asked if I could open her milk for her. She smiled and said her friend Madyson had taught her how. She showed me the side of the carton with the nutritional information, which was the correct side to open it, and preceded to teach me how to open the milk. She was beaming. Even with the pig tails, she looks so grown up. She's got two adult teeth on the bottom of her mouth, she gets herself dressed and ready for school each morning. She has friends that she sits and talks with. She loves doing her homework and reading me her books. She is getting so big. As one of the lunch aids said today to a rowdy room full of kindergarteners, "you guys are almost first graders!" I can't believe it! She will be six in 32 days. Ouch.
